Following the Janta curfew, DMRC announces ‘irregular services’ on Monday i.e. march 23, 2020. In the wake of this critical situation, DMRC will be providing its services only at selected time intervals. Parking at all metro stations will remain closed on Monday.
Look out for the limited services on Monday (March 23):
1) 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM: Starting from 6 am across originating stations of all lines, Metro train services will be available at a frequency of 20 minutes till 8 am. At this time, the trains won’t be available for the common people. Only the ones who are working in important services like hospitals, fire, electricity, police, etc. can commute. The identity cards will be checked at the security. 2) 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM: At this time, trains will be working normally as used to be available every Monday for everyone.
3) 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM: There will be no entry in the metro stations and DMRC properties during this time. However, the moving trains will continue to run till they reach their destination stations. 4) 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Between these four hours, everyone can have access to metro services. 5) 8:00 PM onwards: All the services from 8 pm will be suspended. Only the last train service starting at 8:00 from the first respective stations on each line will continue to run till it reaches its destination.
"In the prevalent scenario where authorities have shut malls, restaurants, major markets, etc. to prevent the spread of coronavirus, it is the responsibility of our passengers also to co-operate with DMRC and help fight against coronavirus collectively," it said.
However, these modified metro services are applicable only for this Monday (March 23). If there is any further requirement to continue the same pattern in the larger public interest, it shall be informed accordingly, DMRC said in a statement.
