This Indian version of "Comedy of Errors" is directed by Gulzar and acting of Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma is a class in its own. Angoor movie nicely highlights the similarities between Indian humor and that of Shakespeare. 4. Khatta Meetha

Directed by Basu Chatterjee, this timeless classic is inspired by "Yours, Mine, and Ours(1968)". The film has talents like Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Roshan all together and will make you believe in the power of love and family. The track "Thoda hai thode ki jarurat hai", by Kishore Da beautifully summarises the story of every middle-class family.

Undoubtedly, one of the funniest Hindi films of all time, Amol Palekar plays Arun, a diffident simpleton and a daydreamer who likes a girl from a neighboring office but isn't able to confess his love, along with Amol Palekar we have Vidya Sinha with Ashok Kumar, Amol Palekar and Asrani. This movie is a must for everyone who likes classic clean comedy.

We couldn't stop ourselves from finishing this list without mentioning the iconic duo of Utpal Dutt and Amol Plaekar. Under the direction of Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Naram Garam is a story of a rich widower, Bhavani Shankar (Utpal Dutt) and his unmarried employee, Ram Prasad (Amol Palekar). Bhavani Shankar is a miser but at the same time highly superstitious. Events turn hilarious when three men fall in love with the same girl.
